"People ask me, 'what do I do for abs?'... I tell them, 'stabilize the mid-line like a motherf@#!er, that's what you do'." - Greg Glassman, Valencia Cert, Core Strength Lecture
Who needs exercises specifically for the "abs" when you can do overhead squats and muscle-ups? Double-under jump ropes and kipping pull ups? Knees-to-elbows and single-leg squats? Box Jumps and Sumo Deadlift High Pulls? What do we do for "abs"?
Without the shoulders and traps locked high up into the ears, the rib cage elevated, the core held tight, and breath held to stabilize the core, the overhead squat will collapse like a house of cards.
